Our Claims Policy

Red light devices are sold in a market with a lot of overclaiming. Plenty of brands in this category will tell you their device treats a condition, relieves a symptom, or produces a guaranteed result. We have decided not to be one of them, and we think you are owed an explanation of where that line sits and why.

What we will not say

• We will not claim our devices treat, cure, heal or prevent anything. Vyalight devices are general wellness products, not medical devices. Language like treatment, cure or healing describes something we are not selling.
• We will not name medical conditions. No claims about pain, inflammation, arthritis, hair loss, acne, or any other condition - not in product copy, not in blog posts, not in advertising.
• We will not publish before-and-after images. A pair of photos is not evidence, and in this category such images are frequently staged, retouched, or generated. We have removed the ones that were previously on our product pages.
• We will not guarantee outcomes. No brand can honestly promise a result from a wellness device, because responses differ between people and depend on how consistently a device is used.
• We will not say clinically proven or medical grade. Neither phrase means anything specific unless it points to a study of our specific device at our specific settings, and we do not have that.
• We will not buy, write or incentivise reviews. The ratings on our product pages come from verified customers, including the ones that are not five stars.

What we will say

• Verifiable device facts. Wavelengths, LED counts, battery capacity, timer lengths, weight, materials, warranty. Things you can check.
• What using the device is like. Cordless, hands-free, wraps around the knee, fits under clothing, runs for a set number of minutes.
• How it fits a routine. Many people use a device as part of a wind-down in the evening or after exercise. That describes an occasion, not a physiological promise.

Why this is worth doing

The obvious answer is regulatory. The FDA distinguishes general wellness products from medical devices by intended use, and a company that talks about treating disease has described a medical device regardless of what it intended to sell. The FTC requires that health-related claims be substantiated before they are made, not after they are challenged. Advertising platforms enforce their own versions of both.

The less obvious answer is that overclaiming is bad for customers. If you buy a device because a website promised something specific about your body and it does not happen, you have been misled, and no return policy fixes that. We would rather tell you exactly what the device is and let you decide.

Holding us to it

If you find copy anywhere on this site, in our advertising, on our packaging, or in an image, that does not meet the standard on this page, tell us at contact@vyalight.com and we will correct it. That includes material written before this policy was published.
